Obituary of Carol Jean Vaught

A funeral service for Carol Jean Vaught, 63, of Charlestown, IN will be Tuesday, April 3, 2018 at 10 AM at Legacy Funeral Center.  Burial will follow in Walnut Ridge Cemetery.  Visitation will be Monday from 2 – 8 PM at the funeral center. 

Carol Jean Shourd Vaught was born September 23, 1953 in Evansville, Indiana.  She went home to be with our LORD on Friday, the 30^th of March, 2018.  She was 63 years old.

Carol is survived by her two children, Shannon Shultz and Scott Bagshaw, her sister, Vicki Lindgren, her brother, Kevin Woods, five grandchildren, Matthew, Jeremy, Courtney and Savanah and three great grandchildren; stepsisters Joyce, Barbara and Charlotte.  Carol also leaves behind her dearest friend, Gary Vaught.

Throughout her 63 years Carol is best known for the joy she brought to those around her.  Her sense of humor carried her through many physical trials she suffered due to injury.  Despite many surgeries and continual pain that persisted, Carol never lost her sense of humor.  She had great talent for finding things to bring laughter and smiles to those around her.  Carol practiced faithfully Psalm 126:2:  “Then was our mouth filled with laughter, and our tongue with singing:” She knew joy in serving the LORD.

Carol was forced to retire early due to her health which gave her time to focus on her family.  No matter how severe the pain, Carol would light up when around her children and/or grandchildren.

Carol was a hard worker, willing to serve wherever she was needed.  She had a true servant heart for our LORD.  No matter the need, she was willing to serve and help someone else.  She didn’t require praise, thanks or recognition but was grateful to give of her time and energies to  help someone else.

Carol Jean Vaught- a living testament of God’s loving Grace and Mercy because of Calvary.  She fought a good fight and finished her course.  Carol kept the faith and has attained the Crown of Righteousness which the LORD, the True and Righteous Judge, has given her. (II Timothy 4:7-8)
