Obituary of Scott Owens

Funeral services for Scott Owens, 63, of New Albany, IN, will be held at 4 PM, on Sunday, March 19, 2017 at Legacy Funeral Center, 921 Main Street in Jeffersonville, with cremation to follow. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 12-4 PM. He passed away on Tuesday, March 14, 2017 at Kindred Hospital in Louisville. Scott was born on August 8, 1953 to the late David and Norma Owens. He worked for many years as a plant operator for the New Albany Floyd County School System. Scott enjoyed traveling to Florida and sitting on the beach. He was an avid IU and Colts fan and enjoyed fishing. He enjoyed spending time with his friends at the Roadhouse Bar & Grill and Bearno’s in New Albany, but most of all he loved spending time with his family. Scott is survived by his five children, April Owens; Scott Owens and his wife Shelby; Tracy Owens; Michael Valentine; Shawn Valentine; three siblings, David “Rod” Owens and his wife Linda; Wynde Rich and her husband Greg; Jerry Owens; and five grandchildren, Wyatte, Waylon, Weston, Mallory, and Joe.
