Funeral services for Martin E. “Hemi” “Hammerhead” Hemmerlein, 90, of Clarksville, IN, will be held at 1:00 PM on Monday, August 7, 2017 at Legacy Funeral Center, 921 Main Street in Jeffersonville, with burial to follow in Eastern Cemetery.  Visitation will be held on Sunday from 1 to 7 PM and on Monday after 10 AM at the funeral home.  He passed away on August 3, 2017.

Martin was retired from Estes Excavating and a member of the Harvest Time Tabernacle in New Albany, IN.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Sylvia Hemmerlein; parents, Conrad and Gertrude Hemmerlein; and brother, Erich Hemmerlein.

He is survived by his two children, Lisa Keith (Robert), and Michael Hemmerlein (Noritta); grandchildren, Steven Hemmerlein (Kimberly), Chris Hemmerlein (Audriana), Matthew Hemmerlein (Darien), Robert Keith (Misty), Jonathan Keith (Emily) and Tiffany Pate (Jeremy); 18 great-grandchildren; and special friend, Mary Upton.
