Obituary of Brenda "Leverett" Fergison

A funeral service for Brenda Fergison, 65, of Sellersburg, IN will take place on Wednesday, December 27, at 2 PM at Legacy Funeral Center, 921 Main St. Jeffersonville, IN, with burial to follow at Eastern Cemetery. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 11 AM – 2 PM at the funeral center. Brenda passed away on December 19, 2017 surrounded by her family.

Brenda was born on April 25, 1952 to D. W. and Opal Leverett. She was a woman of faith who was always known for her love of scripture. Brenda had a great sense of humor and always had a good joke or story to share with her family and friends. Mostly, she loved her family, especially her grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her son, Eli Johnson; parents, D.W. and Opal Leverett; grandparents, Guy and Mildred Jackson; and sister, Rachael Gethin.

Left to cherish her memory is her husband of 11 years, Charles “Charlie” Fergison; children, Yosef Johnson (Dee), Nathan Johnson (Sara), and Bethany Johnson-James; siblings, Drucilla Elliott (Rick), Randy Leverett (Sandy), Cindy Jones, Tylanna Metz, and Skyla Gomez.

The family asks that donations be made to the American Diabetes Association in honor of Brenda. Envelopes will be made available at the funeral home.
