Obituary of Phyllis Ann Abbott

A graveside service for Phyllis Ann Abbott, 79, of Jeffersonville, IN, will be held on Thursday, February 8, 2018 at 1 PM at Charlestown Cemetery in Charlestown, IN. Phyllis passed away peacefully at home with family by her side on February 5, 2018.

Phyllis had a passion for taking care of children and animals, which she devoted her life to.

She is preceded in death by her beloved father, Stevia Haynes; mother, Geneva Jones; brothers, Morris Haynes and Steve Haynes; and sister, Amber Samples.

She is survived by her loving husband of 62 years, James Abbott; children, Kenneth (Leila) Abbott and Rodney Steven (Kathleen) Abbott; sister-in-law, Elaine Mauk; siblings, Billy Pat (Sandy) Haynes, Michael (Elaine) Haynes, and Mary (Clarence) Higdon; granddaughters, Kelsey Abbott, Holly Abbott, and Melissa (Tim) Tolnay; great-granddaughters, Kearstin and Keara; several nieces and nephews; and lifelong friend, Sissy Grubbs Bales.
