Obituary of Ronald L. Hughes

Ronald L Hughes A private memorial service for Ronald (Ronnie) L. Hughes, 55 of Jeffersonville, IN will be held at Legacy Funeral Center, 921 Main Street Jeffersonville, IN 47130; with cremation to follow. Visitation for the public will be held from 5 PM to 7 PM on Friday March 13, 2015 at the funeral home. Ronnie got his first job with McDonald's in 1976 and remained there for 36 years; where he spent most of his years there as a store manager in Jeffersonville, Indiana. He was also a member of the Jeffersonville High School basketball team, where he was the starting center on the varsity team under George Marshall at a time when it produced many D-1 players. He was known as "Spiderman" . He was also a member of the track team as a hurdler under Will Cheeseman and Ralph Scales. Ronnie was well known in the community and was responsible for helping scores of people start their first job through his affiliation with McDonalds. He had a very strong bond with his wife and spent as much time with her as possible. Over the years they took many trips as well as participated in many other activities together. He will be greatly missed. He is preceded in death by his mother, Betty Hughes. He is survived by his wife Debbie of 27 years, his father Richard Hughes Sr., three brothers; Richard Hughes Jr. , Donald Hughes, and Thomas Hughes.
