Obituary of Loren Carmichael

Loren Harley Carmichael 80; Jeffersonville, Indiana Funeral services for Loren Harley Carmichael, 80, of Jeffersonville, Indiana will be held at 3 PM, Saturday, March 14, 2015, at Legacy Funeral Home (921 Main Street) in Jeffersonville. Visitation will be held on Saturday from 1-3 PM at the funeral home. A private burial will take place at the Indiana Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Madison. A celebration of life will be held at 2 PM, Tuesday, March 17, 2015, at First Presbyterian Church (222 Walnut Street) in Jeffersonville. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 1-2 PM at the church. He passed away on Wednesday, March 11, 2015, at Floyd Memorial Hospital. Loren was born on July 23, 1934, in Brown County, Indiana to the late William and Elva Jane Carmichael. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers and three sisters. Loren is survived by his loving wife of 25 years, Peggy Botkins-Carmichael; six children, Lori Shields and her husband Rondle, Vicki Carmichael and her husband Lonnie Cooper, Randy Carmichael and his wife Alana, Jerry Van Carlisle and his wife Eloise, Jane Ann Stuart and her husband Bron, Christine Devereaux; ten grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Loren's only surviving sister is Shirley Wilkerson (Gene) of Columbus, Indiana. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to The National Parkinson Foundation, www.parkinson.org.
