Nelsine Baines

May 23, 1936 – June 29, 2018

Nelsine Baines, 82, died Friday, June 29, 2018 at her home.  She was born in Jeffersonville and was retired from ICI America.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Nelson and Elnora Head, her sisters Elizabeth Jemerson, Mamie Stubbins, Vivian Taylor and grandsons Xavier Somerville and Mason Baines.

Survivors include her husband of 62 years, Frank Baines Jr., daughters M. Renee Baines, Audrey Moore, Victoria Somerville (Exum), son Frank Baines III (Monique), granddaughter (whom they raised), Chansey Dains and daughter by closeness Pamela Dixon.  Her sister, Rose Head.  She had 16 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, July 7, 2018 at Bethel A.M.E. Church, 200 W. Park Place, Jeffersonville, Indiana with burial at Eastern Cemetery in Jeffersonville.  Visitation will be from 4-8p.m. on Friday, July 6, 2018 at Legacy Funeral Center, 921 Main Street, Jeffersonville.

Memorial contributions may be made to Bethel A.M.E. Church building fund. Envelopes will be available at the funeral center.
