Obituary of Willie Wilson

A funeral service for Willie "Mae-Mae" Wilson, 72, of Jeffersonville, IN will be at 11:00 AM on Thursday, August 9, 2018 at Christ Gospel Church, 2614 E 10th Street in Jeffersonville with burial to follow at the Indiana Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Madison. Visitation will be from 9 AM – 11 AM on Thursday at Christ Gospel Church. She passed away on Sunday, August 5, 2018 at her home.

Willie Mae was born on February 6, 1946 in Blakely, GA. She positively impacted all who met her and was once called the “Mile of Smile” girl by her co-workers.

Willie Mae was preceded in death by her loving husband of 48 years, Larry “P-Pop” Wilson; and parents, Horace and Lillie Mae Walker Sr.; and one sister, Deborah Walker.

Willie Mae is survived by her son, Michael Wilson (Jennifer); daughters, Erica Wilson and Melody (Kevin) Davis; grandchildren, Aeryn Bellamy, Christopher Bellamy, Jr., Jacob Bellamy, Kaela Wilson, Desmond McGee, Jr., Ela Wilson, and Ezra Wilson; and great-grandchildren, Mary Hutchison, Naomi Bellamy, and Elyas Carter; siblings, Horace Walker, Jr., Ralph Walker, Mari Walker, Roy (Victoria) Walker, Johnny Walker, David Walker, and Cheryl (Nathaniel) Singletary; and a host of nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made toward Christ Gospel Church. Envelopes will be available at the church.
