Obituary of Harry H. Newman

Harry H. Newman “Bud”

96; Jeffersonville, IN

A funeral service for Harry H. Newman, 96, of Jeffersonville, IN will be on Tuesday, November 6, 2018 at 11 AM at Legacy Funeral Center, 921 Main St. in Jeffersonville, with burial to follow at Walnut Ridge Cemetery. Visitation will be on Monday, November 5, from 12 PM – 8 PM and Tuesday, November 6, from 9 AM – 11 AM at the funeral center. Harry passed away on Wednesday, October 31, 2018.

Harry was born on December 30, 1921 to the late William and Nellie Newman. He served honorably as a Corporal in the United States Army during World War II. Harry was a life-long member of the VFW and American Legion Post 35. He also enjoyed music and played the organ. Harry was a loving husband and father and enjoyed spending time with his family.

Along with his parents, Harry is preceded in death by his loving wife, Dorothy P. Newman; siblings, Fern Heaton, Ruth Young, Helen Fergeson, and William “Bill” Newman; step children, Marie Sanders, Kenneth Johnson, and Beverly Keels.

Harry is survived by his three daughters, Sharon Shetley (Billy), Ruth White, and Harriet “Jeanie” Stewart (Mike); grandchildren, Deana L. Stewart (Ronnie), Kim Nash, Penny Sue Bohanon (Randy), and Gary Wayne Johnson (Terri); great-grandchildren, Colton Stewart, Lane Stewart, and Austin Nash; and sister-in-law, Kate Newman.
