A funeral service for William Lawson, 92, of New Albany, IN will be at 12 PM on Wednesday, May 8, 2019 at Legacy Funeral Center, 921 Main St., Jeffersonville, IN, and his urn will be memorialized at New Albany National Cemetery at a later date. Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 10 AM – 12 PM at the funeral center. William passed away on May 1, 2019.

William was born on October 3, 1926 to the late Edward and Ada Belle Lawson. He was a US Army Veteran. William was also a man of faith and enjoyed reading his bible every day.

Along with his parents, William is preceded in death by his siblings, Omah Rider, Katie Rider, Louise Rider, George Rider, Charles Lawson, and Leroy Lawson; nephew, Marvin Lawson; and niece, Lavida Ayers.

Left to cherish his memory is his sister, Ada Belle Franklin; nephew, Russell Lawson and his wife, Mary; niece, Georgette Rider; and a host of other nieces and nephews.
