Obituary of Jim R. Ayers

Jim R. Ayers, 79, of Clarksville, Indiana, passed away unexpectedly on May 8, 2019. He was born in Paducah, Kentucky, on October 11, 1939.

Jim was a 1959 graduate of Evansville North High School.  He received a bachelor’s degree in Liberal Arts and Sciences from The University of Evansville and a post graduate degree in Banking and Finance from The University of Virginia.

Jim’s career was spent in the Financial Services Industry.  Most recently, he focused primarily on Finance Operations and Financial Advising.  He was devoted to his clients and was highly committed to their financial success.

Jim’s greatest love was his family. He was an exceptional and loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. Jim also enjoyed spending time outdoors and working in his yard. He was known by all as a fun, caring, and gentle man.

Jim is survived by his wife of 57 years, Connie Jennings; sister Gail Shepherd (Paducah, KY); his sons Jeffrey Ayers of Evansville, Indiana, Christopher Ayers (Debbie) of Conway, South Carolina and Matthew Ayers (Jenny) of Louisville, Kentucky. He was also the proud grandfather to Ariel Elizabeth Ayers (Conway, SC), Cassidy Sue Ayers (Evansville, IN), Taylor Elizabeth Ayers (Evansville, IN), Bryson Matthew Ayers (Louisville, KY), Hadley Grace Ayers (Louisville, KY); and great grandchild, Savanna Grace Fowler (Conway, SC).

He is preceded in death by his parents, Juanita and Hestel Ayers and sister, Pat Doherty.

Private arrangements are being handled by the family. Memorial contributions may be designated to the Tri County Shrine Club in Clarksville, Indiana, in honor of his father-in-law, Paul Jennings, or to Norton Children’s Hospital c/o Children’s Hospital Foundation in Louisville in honor of his grandchildren.
