Jerris B. Mallory, 74, of Jeffersonville, IN passed away on Friday, September 13, 2019 at Clark Memorial Hospital. Legacy Funeral Center has been entrusted with her care. Jerris was born to the late Melvin Bryant Sr. and Ellen Bryant on September 11, 1945 in Louisville. Jerris graduated from Jeffersonville High School in 1963. She was employed at the old Book’s 5 & 10 Store and the Indiana Army Ammunition Plant, but Jerris’ passion was in the service industry where she worked at the Starving Artist Lounge of Actors Theater in Louisville, Kentucky and Po Folk’s in Clarksville, Indiana.
Jerris was preceded in death by her daughter, Stacy Horton, father, Melvin Bryant, Sr. and brothers, Melvin Bryant, Jr. and Marty Bryant.
Jerris leaves to mourn her sons, Charles D. Mallory, Jr. (Lacey) of Jeffersonville, IN, Rev. Kevin M. Mallory (Tonya) of Greenwood, IN; grandchildren, Matthew, Courtney, Dalen, Daniel, Cameron, Connor, Elijah, Drew, Kevin Jr.; great-grandchildren, Ethan, Tylan, and Caison; mother, Ellen Bryant of Jeffersonville, IN; stepmother, Charlotte Bryant, of Louisville, KY; brothers, Patrick Bryant (Terry) of Columbus, IN, Robin Bryant, Shaun Bryan of Jeffersonville, IN; sisters Shari Lawler (Greg) of Jeffersonville, IN, Cathy Moran of Louisville, KY, Shelia Harris (Richard) of Detroit, MI, and Debbie Bryant of New Albany, IN.
A funeral service for Jerris will be at 1 PM on Friday, September 20, 2019 at Welsey United Methodist Church, 1201 Thomas V Bryant Dr. Jeffersonville, IN. Visitation for Jerris will be at Wesley United Methodist on Thursday, September 19, from 4 PM - 8 PM and on Friday, September 20, from 11 AM - 1 PM.
